Take a U-turn to UPA: Supporters grow anxious about Modi's 'policy paralysis'

There is this emerging joke in Lutyens’ Delhi that PM Narendra Modi appears to be leading UPA-3 because of his inability to steer away from the practices and policies of the Manmohan Singh era. The latest news of his endorsement of the Indo-Bangla land swap -- a 100 percent shuddh UPA stance -- is unlikely to have dented that growing reputation. The Congress party has now dubbed his government "U-Turn sarkar," or should that be a UPA-turn sarkar.

Sataire: Ekta Kapoor’s Pavitra Rishta is over, PM announces Rs.5000cr relief for those affected

In a commendable move by the central government, PM Modi has announced a relief package of Rs.5000 crore for the 5 crore men who were victims of domestic abuse by their wives’ inexorable longing of the long running Pavitra Rishta, a daily soap opera on Zee TV, playing since ancient times with a total of more than 1424 episodes.

The move, as usual was questioned by the self-proclaimed opposition party in Indian Parliament, Congress. “What about the victims of Qubool Hai?“, Digvijay Singh questioned if there was an RSS hand behind it and if BJP is playing a communal card here too.

When Trainee MBA Promoted As CEO...?

By Vaibhav Anand
In an extraordinary feat of mental acuity, a Management Trainee in a consulting firm was promoted directly to CEO after he managed to speak nonsense extempore for an hour. As per sources with the firm, the lucky new joinee had been, in fact, simply asked to introduce himself to other Management Trainees. However, the man launched into an awe inspiring speech, the specifics of which none of the people around him could remember later.
“It was like watching a Salman Khan movie or meeting with an accident that causes severe head trauma,” a fellow Management Trainee said.

Quantum Education Comes From 3 'R's + 4 'C's

By M H Ahssan
By most accounts, in education American youth lag behind others in the world. We can catch up if we're determined to do so, but it won't be easy or quick; it will take totally rethinking our approach to education. Aren't we doing OK, even though we lag behind with education? Not so much, if we consider the crouching tigers of China and others where they take excellence in education seriously.
Essentially in America, what it will take to begin cultivating educational excellence across socioeconomic strata include the painful pill of removing athletics programs from our school and applying the funds and attention to improving our teacher support and curricula; changing from a memorization-testing mindset to one of critical thinking; keeping our children in school closer to the 230 days of Chinese children rather than the 180 days of ours (ours are in school less than half the calendar year), thereby reducing or eliminating hours of homework and hiring teachers from the tops of their graduating classes.
